Student answer (Band 5.0)

Taking a reast between the year of finishing college or school and university is belong to the attiude of the people and the way they think Actually, I think it is good for student to have a rest before starting the university.

In addition, students who want to take a year rest before studying university have different reason such as travel to somewhere, busy with friends, gain a job and earn money for themself. However, taknig a rest for students between school and university is so important and more effective because one year rest can effectively been on thier mind, attiude, activity, sport and etc.

In other hand, young generation want and spend a lot of money while their studying and it is the best time for them to find a job then work an finally earn money as much as they have to pursue their life and have money to start the university and it's requirements.

Furthermore, young individuals need or want to travel to another country or city and learn new thing such as language, culture, visit nice and globally pace and have pictures and videos of them with him. However, it is not possible for all individual because every thing that we want need money to cost and enjoy from that.

Last but not least, taking between the school and university is godd for students specially accomplished students that need a rest and then pursue their education for any reason that they have like enjoying, experience jon and earn money, travel to other cities and etc.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a generally positive position, stating that a year out is “good for student” and giving relevant reasons: earning money, travelling, and gaining experience. These points address the topic, but the response only partially develops the central claim that non-academic life benefits students when they return to education. For example, you mention that a break can affect students’ “mind” and “attitude,” but do not explain how these changes might improve their studies. The discussion also focuses more on having a rest and meeting personal needs than on work experience or the specific benefits of returning to university. Develop two or three reasons with clear explanations or examples, and state your degree of agreement more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, and phrases such as “In addition,” “Furthermore,” and “Last but not least” signal that you are adding points. However, the ideas do not build into a clear overall progression: the second paragraph lists possible activities, while later paragraphs repeat the benefits of earning money and travelling. Some connections are unclear, particularly the shift from travel to the statement that these activities require money. The repeated use of “However” does not always introduce a contrast, and references such as “that” in “for any reason that they have” are vague. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, explain it in sequence, and use linking expressions only when their relationship is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “work experience,” “earn money,” “travel,” and “culture,” so the reader can identify the main areas you want to discuss. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make ideas difficult to understand. For instance, “taking a reast,” “busy with friends,” “globally pace,” and “enjoy from that” are not natural expressions in this context. Spelling errors such as “attiude,” “taknig,” and “thier” also occur. Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing a gap year, such as gaining practical experience, becoming more independent, and returning to study with clearer goals. Check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a sentence beginning “In addition, students who want to take a year rest…” and one using “because.” However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction and basic grammar are frequent enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. For example, “Taking a reast … is belong to” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “one year rest can effectively been on their mind” does not form a clear grammatical clause. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “it is good for student” and the opening sentence, which runs several ideas together. Practise accurate subject–verb patterns and build shorter, complete sentences before adding complex clauses.
