Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify relevant features, including the peak in leisure among women aged 75 and over and the low level of work in that age group. You also attempt to compare educational groups and describe age-related patterns. However, the overview is incomplete and some comparisons are inaccurate or unclear: household activity is not consistently “in the middle,” and the claim that high-school graduates perform the second-highest household activity overlooks the higher figure for women with less than a high-school diploma. The age trends also need more precise reporting: leisure falls to ages 35–44 before rising, rather than simply showing a rising trend from that group. Select the main patterns accurately and support them with a few well-chosen comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has separate paragraphs for an introduction, an overview, education, and age, so there is some organisation and the reader can identify the broad topics. However, progression between ideas is not always clear. The paragraph beginning “On the other hand” does not present a clear contrast, and “Although” introduces a clause that is not completed as a contrast. The final paragraph combines several trends without explaining their relationship, while repeated “However” makes the linking mechanical. Group the information more systematically—for example, describe the age patterns together and then compare educational attainment—and use linking expressions only when their logical relationship is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant chart vocabulary such as “average hours,” “age groups,” “leisure & sports,” and “gradually increases,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, including “the one of the most highest,” “most least activities,” and “activities done by.” Repeated use of “activities” also makes the description less precise. There are noticeable spelling errors, such as “activites,” “diplona,” and “dowm,” which reduce the accuracy of the report. Aim for concise, standard chart language and check spelling; for example, use “the highest figure” or “spent the fewest hours” rather than combining superlatives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences with connectors, but the longer structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently. For example, “hours … each week spend by the woman” has an incorrect verb construction, while “leisure and sports is” has subject–verb disagreement. The sentence beginning “Although, household activities…” is not grammatically complete as a contrast, and punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops and commas used awkwardly. These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise accurate sentence patterns such as “Women aged 75 and over spent…” and “Household activity rose…, whereas work hours…,” then check agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries.
