Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response covers all requirements of the task. You have successfully identified the main features and provided relevant comparisons between age groups and education levels. The overview is clear, and the data is generally accurate. However, to reach a higher band, ensure that the data points selected are more representative of the overall trends rather than listing individual figures. For instance, while you mention specific ranges, grouping them more effectively would improve the analytical quality. The summary is well-structured and addresses the prompt comprehensively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The response is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the data (age groups followed by education levels). Cohesive devices such as 'In general', 'on the other hand', and 'whereas' are used effectively to link ideas. However, the transition between the age-related data and the education-related data could be smoother. Additionally, some referencing is slightly repetitive, but the overall structure remains clear and easy to follow throughout the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey information clearly. Phrases like 'educational attainment', 'consumed', and 'accounted for' are used appropriately. There are some minor inaccuracies, such as 'date for working' (likely meant 'data') and 'form different education levels' (should be 'from'). While the vocabulary is adequate for the task, incorporating more precise collocations or varied synonyms for 'spent' or 'activities' would enhance the lexical sophistication of the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'majority of women' (missing the article 'the'), 'Teenaged girls... spent 36.8 hours on an average' (should be 'on average'), and 'date for working' (spelling error). Despite these errors, the meaning is never obscured, and the communication remains effective. To improve, focus on article usage and proofreading for minor typographical errors that distract from the otherwise clear and well-structured sentences.
