Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the task but fails to provide a clear or accurate summary of the data. The main features are not effectively highlighted, and the descriptions of the trends are often confusing or factually incorrect based on the provided chart (e.g., the claim about women with less than a high school diploma). The overview is vague and lacks a clear grasp of the data trends. To improve, you must focus on identifying the most significant differences and trends, such as comparing the highest and lowest activity hours across age groups, rather than listing details in a disjointed manner.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or incorrect, such as the repetitive and misused 'their was' at the start of many sentences. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between age groups and educational levels. The transition between ideas is abrupt, and the overall structure lacks the necessary flow to guide the reader through the data analysis effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which hinders the clarity of the report. There are frequent errors in word choice, such as 'diminished in whole data' and 'totally interest of women was finish'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe trends and comparisons precisely. You rely on basic phrasing and struggle with collocations related to data description. To reach a higher band, you should learn specific vocabulary for describing graphs, such as 'fluctuate', 'decline', 'peak', and 'remain stable'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There is a persistent misuse of 'their' instead of 'there', and subject-verb agreement is frequently incorrect (e.g., 'the data is represents'). Sentence structures are often fragmented or poorly constructed, making the text difficult to parse. While there is an attempt at complex sentences, they are almost always faulty. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, specifically the correct use of 'there is/are' and ensuring that verbs are correctly conjugated to match the subject.
