Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarize the data but struggles with accuracy and clarity. The introduction incorrectly identifies the data as 'spending of money', whereas the chart clearly depicts 'average hours'. While you identify some trends, the reporting of figures is often confusing or inaccurate (e.g., mentioning '32.8 %' when the chart shows hours). The overview is present but lacks a clear synthesis of the main features. To improve, ensure you carefully read the axis labels and units of measurement, and focus on selecting the most significant trends rather than listing individual data points, which can lead to a disjointed summary.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by poor sentence structure and a lack of effective cohesive devices. Transitions between ideas are often abrupt or missing, such as the sudden shift in the final paragraph. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between age groups and educational levels. To reach a higher band, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'in contrast', 'furthermore', 'consequently') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through the data.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'diffrent various' (redundant) and 'surge decrease', which is a contradiction. The phrase 'diploma women's spend highest number of time' is unnatural and imprecise. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the data with the necessary precision required for an Academic Task 1 report. You should focus on learning collocations related to data description, such as 'a significant proportion', 'a steady decline', or 'the highest figure was recorded by'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'women figure experienced'), missing articles (e.g., 'in rise of age'), and incorrect preposition usage. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practice using articles correctly before nouns.
