Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. Because the response is only 76 words long, it is severely underdeveloped. It fails to provide a comprehensive overview or a detailed report of the data presented in the bar chart. Key features, such as specific age groups or educational levels, are mentioned only in passing or not at all. The summary is incomplete, and the lack of data points makes it impossible to fulfill the requirement of reporting main features and making relevant comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is too short to demonstrate effective paragraphing or a logical progression of ideas. While there is a basic attempt at an introduction and a summary, the connection between sentences is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited, and the text feels fragmented. The lack of development makes it difficult to assess the ability to organize information coherently. To improve, you must expand your response into distinct paragraphs that logically group the data, using linking words to guide the reader through your analysis.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. Phrases such as 'doing work related tasks' and 'spent their time' are simplistic and lack the precision required for an Academic Task 1 response. There is no attempt to use more sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary related to data analysis, such as 'proportion,' 'fluctuation,' or 'educational attainment.' The range is insufficient to convey the information clearly or professionally. You should focus on learning collocations and academic terminology to describe trends and comparisons more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are several grammatical errors that impede clarity, such as 'Most ladies in their young to middle appeared to spent' (incorrect verb form) and 'dedicated more time to stay active' (awkward phrasing). The sentence structures are simple, and the punctuation is inconsistent, specifically the space before the comma in 'However ,'. The response lacks the variety of complex structures expected at higher bands. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage, and the construction of more complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions.
