Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the prompt by summarizing the bar chart, but it struggles with accuracy and clarity. While you identify some trends, the descriptions are often confusing or factually inconsistent with the data (e.g., claiming 75+ year-olds spend 0.13 hours on work, which is unclear). The overview is weak and does not clearly highlight the most significant trends. You have attempted to cover both age and education, but the lack of precision in reporting the data points makes it difficult for the reader to follow the main features of the chart. To improve, focus on selecting the most prominent figures and comparing them clearly rather than listing many small details.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear referencing. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover' and 'Meanwhile', but they are often applied mechanically or incorrectly, which hinders the progression of ideas. For example, the transition between discussing age groups and educational attainment is abrupt. The internal structure of sentences is often disjointed, making it difficult to identify the relationship between the data points being compared. Improving the use of linking words to show contrast or addition would help create a smoother, more professional flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors that impede clarity, such as 'youngster' used as a noun to describe a group, 'experienced' used incorrectly to describe time spent, and 'grope' instead of 'group'. Phrases like 'mostly liye in' are non-standard and confusing. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'educational attainment' and 'primary activities', the overall control is weak. You need to focus on using words in their correct context and expanding your range of verbs and adjectives to describe trends more precisely, such as 'fluctuate', 'predominate', or 'account for'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often affect the clarity of the message. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'young adults are spent', 'leisure and sports share are mostly depends'), incorrect verb tenses, and awkward sentence structures. The use of articles and prepositions is also inconsistent. While you attempt some complex sentence structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. To reach a higher band, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and using correct tense forms consistently throughout the report.
