Student answer (Band 5.0)

As you can see in the above chart, As the age grows leisure & sports are getting less and households activities and work related activities increase. And if you talk about educational activities majority of the women completes diploma or lower education. I think this is very concerning that higher the education is, lower the number of women. Government should in courage women for higher studies and also invent some benefits for the women who completes the higher education. If you also notice women spend good time in leisure & sports which is good news because that can help them physically and mentally, also that will help them for better decisions making and less dependence on other’s . The remaining thing is household activities, as you can see in chart, the household activities are pretty average nothing extreme work or less work and that’s good thing, it shows how they balance there life between all the works. That’s my observation from the above given chart. Thank you.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response partially fulfills the task requirements by describing some trends in the chart. The writer identifies that leisure and sport activities decrease with age while household and work activities increase, but lacks specific data or precise comparisons that would enhance the response. Additionally, the commentary on education is relevant but feels somewhat detached from the data presented in the chart, which affects the coherence of the observations. The writer should aim to include more specific references and comparisons from the chart for a higher score in Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The coherence of the response is somewhat hindered by a lack of structured organization. While ideas are presented, they do not flow logically from one to another, making it hard for the reader to follow the argument. For example, the shift from discussing leisure activities to educational attainment feels abrupt. A clearer structure, possibly separating observations by age group and then educational level, would improve coherence significantly. Utilizing linking phrases can also enhance cohesion between sentences and ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited, with phrases such as "good news" and "that’s my observation" being somewhat informal and lacking sophistication. The vocabulary used does convey the main ideas but lacks variety and precision. For instance, the use of "en courage" needs correction (should be "encourage"), and terms could be more academic, such as using "impact" instead of "good news." There are also some spelling errors, which detract from the overall quality of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

Grammatical range and accuracy appear to be a significant area for improvement. There are several errors in subject-verb agreement; for example, "the majority of the women completes" should be "the majority of the women complete." Additionally, incorrect prepositions and tenses are noted, such as "on the above chart" which could be more precisely stated. The sentence structure is often simple, which limits the complexity expected at higher bands. Focusing on varying sentence structures could enhance this aspect significantly.

Overall feedback

You have presented some relevant observations regarding the trends in women's activities based on age and education level, which indicates you have understood the chart to some extent. However, it is essential to back your observations with specific data and comparisons to strengthen your analysis. Improve the organization of your response to guide the reader through your points more smoothly, considering using linking words and more varied grammatical structures. Additionally, work on expanding your vocabulary to include more formal terms suitable for an academic context. Regular practice and review of grammatical rules will also aid in enhancing accuracy in your writing.
