Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Average hours per week women spent in selected primary activities, by age and educational attainment, 2009
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The bar charts illustrate the number of hours on average when women, having different level of education, are involved in specific activities weekly.
It is obvious that the amount of time spent on leisure and sports is greater than other activities across all ages, 36.8 hours for women aged from 15 to 19 years old, (32.7 hours) for those aged from 25 to 34, and the rate increase clearly for elderly people, reaching 44 hours a week for individuals between 65 and 74, 51.7 hours for people above 75 years old.
Regarding educated women over 25 years old, the period allocated to leisure and sport is also large as for the uneducated ones, with a little decrease with 32.4 hours each week for women that got a college or associate degree and 28.6 hours for those who had a bachelor or higher degree.
With regard to working and related activities, medium aged women aged between 20 and 64 approximately spend around 26.3 hours in working while the figures devoted for household activities stay stable around the 16.7 hours a week except for women below the age of 20 years old which they are teenagers mostly.
Overall, women generally speaking tend to spend most of their time on leisure and sports, secondly come working and related activities and the least practiced is doing household activities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the bar chart, including age groups and educational levels. However, the analysis is somewhat inconsistent. While you identify the dominance of leisure and sports, the comparison between educational levels is slightly confusing, and the description of working hours lacks precision regarding the specific age groups mentioned in the prompt. The overview is present but could be more effectively integrated to highlight the most significant trends. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are clearly linked to the categories provided and avoid minor inaccuracies in reporting the figures, such as the unclear grouping of 'medium aged women'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Regarding', 'With regard to', and 'Overall', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the third paragraph where the comparison between educated and uneducated women is slightly muddled. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different categories of data, which aids the overall readability of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'educational attainment', 'allocated', and 'stable'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'the rate increase clearly' (should be 'the rate increases') and 'the least practiced is doing household activities' (which is slightly awkward). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning, it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. Focusing on more precise collocations related to data description would improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'women, having different level of education' (should be 'levels'), 'which they are teenagers mostly', and 'the figures devoted for household activities'. These errors are frequent but do not generally impede communication. To improve, work on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of relative clauses. While you attempt complex structures, they are not always error-free, which limits the score in this criterion.
