The bar chart here depicts the average number of hours that a women spent on average per week based on different parameters such as primary activities like work, leisure and household activities based on age and educational attainment in the year 2009.

Based on the age, 75 and over spent more time in leisure and sports contributing to 51.7 hours/ week and the middle aged women in 25- 34 year group women spent more time working or work related activities. Age group 35- 44 also spent almost same time in all the activities. The younger generation, 15- 19 group spent more time in leisure making it the 3rd group.

Comparing with the educational qualification and the hours spent on different activities, those with higher education spent more time in work and leisure activities with a difference of 1.2hrs. Those with less than a high school diploma spent more time in leisure activities followed by 20hrs/ week in household activities and only 10.7 hours in work or work related activities. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the chart, but the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you identify some key trends, such as the high leisure time for the 75+ age group and the work focus of the 25-34 group, the reporting of data is occasionally imprecise or confusing (e.g., 'making it the 3rd group' is unclear). Furthermore, the comparison between educational attainment and activity hours lacks sufficient detail and statistical support. To reach a higher band, ensure that you select the most significant data points and provide clear, accurate comparisons rather than listing isolated figures. The overview is present but could be more effectively integrated to highlight the broader trends.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For instance, the transition between the age-based analysis and the education-based analysis is abrupt. Some sentences lack logical flow, such as the statement 'leisure stands the first among all,' which is not clearly supported by the preceding data. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence and progression of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the main points. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'based on different parameters such as primary activities' and 'comparing with the educational qualification.' There is little evidence of less common lexical items or sophisticated collocations. To improve, try to incorporate more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'educational attainment,' 'proportion,' 'significant disparity,' or 'predominant activity,' rather than relying on basic descriptive language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'a women spent' (should be 'women spent'), 'in 25- 34 year group women spent' (awkward phrasing), and 'from this bar chart its evident' (missing apostrophe in 'it's'). Additionally, some sentences are slightly clunky, which affects the overall fluency. To achieve a higher score, focus on eliminating these basic errors and increasing the variety of complex sentence structures, ensuring that your punctuation and subject-verb agreement are consistently accurate.
