Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the bar chart, including age and education variables. However, there are some inaccuracies in data reporting. For instance, you mention the age group '20-14', which is logically impossible, and the comparison of working hours across education levels lacks precision. While you identify the main trends, the analysis could be more thorough by highlighting specific data points more accurately. The overview is clear, but the supporting details need to be more carefully checked against the provided data to ensure full accuracy.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In terms of', 'Meanwhile', and 'regarding', which help the flow. However, the progression between sentences is occasionally mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, but the paragraphing could be improved by grouping the age-related data and education-related data more distinctly to avoid jumping between topics. Overall, the structure is sufficient to guide the reader through the information.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'educational attainment', 'accounted for', and 'significantly increased'. There are some minor errors in word choice and phrasing, such as 'Women aging 15-19' (should be 'aged') and 'form 43.1 hours' (a typo for 'from'). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the precision is sometimes lacking. To reach a higher band, focus on more accurate collocations and ensure spelling is consistent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('women with higher education tends to spend') and prepositional errors ('increase with respect to the age'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing spaces before commas. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for minor slips would improve your accuracy.
