Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response covers all parts of the task well. You have successfully identified the main features and provided relevant comparisons between age groups and educational levels. The data is accurately reported, and the overview provides a clear summary of the trends. To reach a higher band, ensure that the overview is more concise and avoids minor grammatical errors that slightly distract from the clarity of the summary. The selection of data is appropriate, and the comparisons made between the different categories are logical and well-supported by the figures provided in the chart.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. You have used paragraphing effectively to separate the age-based data from the education-based data. Cohesive devices such as 'Looking first at', 'Regarding', and 'Finally' are used appropriately to guide the reader. However, there are some minor issues with referencing and sentence-level cohesion, such as the slightly awkward phrasing in the introduction ('Its can be see that'). Overall, the information is presented in a coherent manner, and the structure is easy to follow throughout the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. Terms like 'educational attainment', 'corresponding figures', and 'accounted for' are used effectively. There are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'leiser' (leisure) and 'activites' (activities). While these do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure consistent spelling throughout your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you have successfully used comparative structures, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'Its can be see that' (It can be seen that) and 'women was enjoyed' (women enjoyed). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not cause difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher score, focus on subject-verb agreement and passive voice construction. Increasing the variety of complex sentence forms while maintaining accuracy will also help improve your score in this criterion.
