The bar chart below shows the average number of hours that women in various age groups and women with varying levels of education spend on primary activities each week.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The graphical representation delineates the amount of time weekly alloted to a number of daily routined activities by females in 2009 with respect to their age group and academic level. The calibration is in number of hours.

Overall, it is striking that irrespective of their educational background or ages, time spent on recreational activities dominated the poll almost everytime. There were however, certain leaps and bounds observed in the remaining tasks such as employment related work or household chores.

To incept with, during teenage, the subjects spent most significant time for leisure sports which were 36.8 hours, followed by household and corporate tasks with almost 6 hours individually. Gradually, with the surveyees aged to adulthood, in their 40s, the time they allocated to their recreation routine showcased a decline with an average of about 30 hours weekly. Whereas, their commitment towards formal tasks rose significantly with around 20 hours per week as a whole. The elderly women nevertheless, again started to engage in sports more with approximately 50 hours in every 7 days with a decline in dedication to another forms of work.

On the contrary, women who just pursued intermediate or complete schooling spent around 40 hours in leisure and sports per week. However, collegians with any form of degree balanced their work life with sports with nearly 25 hours allotted to work related activities.
