The bar chart below shows the average number of hours that women in various age groups and women with varying levels of education spend on primary activities each week.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart provides information about the average weekly hours women from various age groups and educational backgrounds spend on their main activities.

Overall, women spent the most time on leisure and sports, especially in the oldest age group, while working hours generally declined with age. Higher educational attainment was associated with more time spent working but less time on leisure and household activities.

Looking at age, women aged 15–19 spent 36.8 hours on leisure, compared with only 6.9 hours on work. Work rose to 27.0 hours among those aged 25–34, then gradually fell to 1.3 hours for women aged 75 and over. In contrast, leisure increased again among older women, reaching 51.7 hours in the oldest group.

Regarding education, women without a high school diploma spent just 10.7 hours working, while this figure increased steadily to 27.4 hours for those with a bachelor’s degree or higher. Leisure showed the opposite trend, falling from 43.1 to 28.6 hours. Household activities also decreased, from 20.0 to 15.2 hours.
