Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the chart, noting that leisure and sports generally dominate across age groups, especially for those 75 and over, and outlines working and household activities. However, the student's text falls slightly short of the 150-word minimum requirement (containing 144 words). Additionally, some comparisons are vague or grammatically distorted, such as the sentence attempting to compare leisure/sports and work for women aged 25 to 55. While an overview is attempted, the underdeveloped analysis and under-length status pull the score down to Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay attempts a logical structure with an introductory sentence, an overview, and body details. However, paragraphing is underdeveloped and mechanical, and cohesive devices are frequently misused or clumsy (e.g., 'Therefore, Household activities has balanced among all ages people' and 'On the other hand'). Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall progression is disrupted by sentence-level fragmentation and abrupt transitions between ideas. This corresponds to a Band 5.0 level of coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'educational attainment', 'trending', and 'popular', but word choice and collocation errors are frequent (e.g., 'average times of a week spend', 'most loveable activities', 'similarb'). Vocabulary is often basic or strained, and spelling/morphological issues ('betwwen', 'womennamely') hinder precise communication. The range is minimally adequate for the task, fitting the Band 5.0 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Leisure and sports are most popular... Working and work related activities has'), missing prepositions, and incomplete or malformed clauses (e.g., 'while between Leisure and sports and Working and work related activitiesnearly similarb to the women age 25 to 55'). Punctuation is also problematic, including a trailing slash instead of a full stop at the end. These errors cause difficulty for the reader, placing the response at Band 5.0.
