Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response is severely under-length, containing only 78 words compared to the required 150-word minimum. Because of this, it fails to cover all parts of the task. While the student attempts an overview and mentions leisure and working activities, the details are extremely sparse, omitting the entire second half of the chart regarding educational attainment. Furthermore, there are several misinterpretations or inaccurate generalisations, such as claiming that household activities showed constant growth over the years, which is factually incorrect for the 75 and over age group (dropping from 21.1 to 19.6). Due to the lack of development and failure to meet the word count requirement, Task Achievement is heavily penalised.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response is divided into a brief introduction and an overall paragraph, but lacks proper body paragraphs to effectively structure the data. Cohesive devices are minimal, relying on basic connectors like 'Overall' and 'Moreover'. The phrase 'Moreover, they only used to work and work releted activities when they are in the age of a working person' creates a clunky and disjointed logical transition. Paragraphing is insufficient due to the extreme brevity of the text, and progression of ideas is stunted.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is very basic and contains noticeable spelling and morphological errors, such as 'char' instead of 'chart', 'womans' instead of 'women', and 'releted' instead of 'related'. There are also awkward collocations and lexical choices, such as 'to do the primary activities'. While the student attempts some topic-related vocabulary like 'educational attainment' and 'leisure and sports activities', the limited range and frequent errors restrict the lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The text contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are noticeable errors in subject-verb agreement and tense consistency, such as 'womans mostly spent... and, households activities showed' and mixing past tense with present tense ('when they are in the age'). Punctuation and phrasing are awkward in places, though basic meaning remains comprehensible despite the errors.
