In contrast, those who were educated, were supported their family by earning at the rate of 20%. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The student attempts to address the prompt by reporting information from the bar chart regarding age groups, educational attainment, and weekly activities. However, the response suffers from significant data misinterpretation and imprecision. For instance, the student states that teenagers 'have not involved in household activities and their earning ratio was only about 6%', whereas the chart shows household activities at 6.0 hours and working hours at 6.9 hours. Furthermore, the overview provided in the first paragraph is vague and lacks a clear summary of the primary overarching trends. While some main features are mentioned, comparisons between the categories are weak and imprecise, leading to a partial and sometimes inaccurate coverage of the data. This corresponds to Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response is divided into three paragraphs, providing a basic structural layout. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by unclear referencing and abrupt transitions. For example, sentences such as 'Furthermore, at the age above 50, they have started enjoying their spare time and the trend was growing up till age 65' connect ideas somewhat mechanically. Cohesive devices are used in a rudimentary fashion (e.g., 'On the other hand', 'In conclusion'), and referencing pronouns like 'they' often become ambiguous given the mix of age groups and educational levels discussed. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal coherence within the paragraphs is weak, justifying a score of 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and morphology. Examples include 'females weekly acrivities report', 'demonstarting', and 'fun time'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items (e.g., 'educational attainment' is prompted, though mostly paraphrased poorly as 'education and age group'), but these attempts often result in inaccurate collocations or awkward phrasing, such as 'earning ratio was only about 6%' instead of working hours. Spelling errors ('acrivities', 'demonstarting') and imprecise lexical control place this firmly in the Band 5 category.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences alongside frequent faulty attempts at complex clauses. There are numerous grammatical and mechanical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Teenager's spent', 'those who were educated, were supported'), incorrect prepositions ('at the age above 50', 'for extra curricular activities'), and tense inconsistencies. These frequent errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and impede smooth comprehension, matching the descriptors for Band 5.
