Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response partially addresses the prompt by attempting to summarize information from the bar chart regarding women's activities by age and educational attainment. However, the selection of main features is disjointed and confused, with numerous misinterpretations of the visual data. For instance, the student refers to education levels for 15-to-19-year-olds when the chart measures working, leisure, and household activities, and invents figures like 'about 5.0 rang'. Important overarching trends—such as the inverse relationship between age and leisure versus working hours—are missed or poorly expressed. The overview is overly vague ('use of chart incresed significantly on the Education'). Overall, the task response falls well short of a clear, coherent reporting of the data, warranting a lower band score.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The text is divided into four short paragraphs, representing an attempt at structural organisation (introduction, body, conclusion). However, logical progression is severely disrupted by confusing transitions like 'on the one hand' and 'on the other hand', which do not properly contrast the data presented. Cohesive devices are misused or entirely absent, and referencing is unclear ('those women work on the house hold activity spend on their time by the structure chart'). Paragraphing is mechanically attempted, but the internal flow within paragraphs fails due to broken syntax and illogical connections, leading to an overall lack of clear textual progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic, repetitive, and frequently inappropriate for an academic task report. The student relies on rudimentary terms like 'chart', 'women', 'time', and 'work', while misusing topic-specific vocabulary such as 'educational attainment', 'lesure', and 'bacholer degree'. There are frequent word-choice errors (e.g., 'spend higher time on Education', 'structure chart') and spelling mistakes ('incresed', 'lesure', 'bacholer', 'dgree', 'house hold'). The lexical range is limited and inadequate for discussing statistical charts, meaning the vocabulary often strains the reader's comprehension.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

Grammatical control is extremely weak throughout the response. The writing contains a very limited range of structures, with almost no error-free sentences. Frequent errors include missing articles ('chart is illustrates'), incorrect prepositions ('at theage of', 'spend on their time'), faulty tense usage ('chart is illustrates', 'incresed significantly'), and severe run-on or fragmented sentence structures. These errors are pervasive and frequently impede communication, making it very difficult for the reader to follow the intended meaning.
