Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response responds to the task only minimally and fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words (the student wrote 149 words, and 24 of those were copied directly from the prompt). While the student attempts to report some figures from the chart, such as 32.7 for leisure and sports among 20-to-24-year-olds and 43.1 for education levels, the data is presented in a fragmented, highly disorganised manner. Key features are not adequately summarised, and comparisons are confused or incomplete. Furthermore, the inclusion of text copied directly from the prompt fails to contribute to the task content, leaving the overall response underdeveloped and tangential to a proper academic overview.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
Information and ideas are not arranged coherently, resulting in a text that lacks overall progression or logical structure. There are no proper paragraphs; the entire response is written as a single, dense block of text with abrupt transitions between sentences, such as 'overview women are age between...' and 'Which students are less than...'. Cohesive devices are either entirely missing or misused, making it very difficult for the reader to follow the flow of information or understand how different data points relate to one another.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on words directly extracted from the prompt or simple terms like 'activities', 'leisure', 'sports', and 'ratio'. There are frequent errors in word choice, collocation, and word formation, such as 'most the doing activities' and 'very maximum'. These lexical inadequacies strain the reader and reflect a limited vocabulary that is barely adequate for the task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting almost entirely of poorly constructed simple sentences with frequent structural errors. There are constant issues with verb forms, tense consistency, missing auxiliary verbs, and incorrect prepositions or clause structures, as seen in 'The women are old 75 and over the age most activities leisure and sports' and 'The women aged between 65 to 74 the ratio of leisure sports are very maximum than the ratio of work related activities'. These frequent errors severely distort meaning and cause significant difficulty for the reader.
