Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response only partially addresses the task requirements and fails to meet the minimum word count of 150 words, stopping short at 118 words. While the student attempts an overview and mentions categories like leisure, sports, and working activities, the information is presented in a very generalized and vague manner. Key details, specific data points, and meaningful comparisons across age groups and educational levels are largely missing. The overview contains inaccuracies regarding the data, stating that working and work-related activities were the least recorded when the chart shows lower figures for certain age groups, such as those aged 75 and over. Furthermore, the development of ideas is limited, preventing the response from achieving a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organization with an introductory sentence and transition phrases like 'To begin with', but the text lacks a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, but the body paragraphs are disjointed and underdeveloped. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and sometimes inaccurately, such as 'Furthermore, household activities become the second highest activity that wowen participated on much so accounted for almost all the activities', which makes the logical relationship between sentences unclear. Referencing is also weak, contributing to a sense of fragmentation throughout the short response.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task. There are noticeable lexical errors, awkward word choices, and typos throughout the text, such as 'ladies' instead of women, 'ttime', 'sportsthan', and 'wowen'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, but inaccurate collocations and word forms—such as 'participated on much so accounted for'—cause difficulty for the reader and obscure the precise meaning of the sentences.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammar demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors in complex formations. There are noticeable issues with subject-verb agreement and tense consistency, such as 'it is clearly evidence that woman spend', 'activities become the second highest', and 'women enjoyed spending much time when it comes to leisure'. Punctuation and article usage are also problematic, with missing articles before key nouns and frequent errors that occasionally impede smooth communication.
