Student answer (Band 5.0)

This is the bar chart that gives us the information whether how much time women of different age group spend on primary activities per weak. The numbers vary according to aga group and depend on the women's responsibilit level. The graph shows that those who are above 75 are mostly spending their time in leisure and sports while the women of age 45 to 54 are mostly involved in working and work related activities. In addition to this, those women who have an education level of less than a high school diploma are spending most of their time in leisure. The females who have a bechlor degree or higher have more employbility rate than those who have lower level of education. This graph also illustrates that those women are mostly involved in household activities who are in the age bracket of 65 to 74. Furthermore, working and household work is very rare at the age range of 15 to 19 years old. The minimum chance of employbility is for those women who are 75 years old and more. Overall, working is very common between age 20 to 64 for those who have a high school certificate, college or a university degree. Women are doing household activities at everyage but 65 to 74 is more prominent in the bar chart.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several relevant features, including the high leisure figure for women aged 75 and over and the low level of work among this group. However, the response only partially summarises the chart: it gives few accurate comparisons across the age and education categories and does not clearly report the overall patterns. Some claims are inaccurate or unsupported. For example, women aged 45–54 are not the group most involved in work; working hours are slightly higher for those aged 25–34 and 45–54, and highest among women with a bachelor’s degree or above in the education section. The claim that women aged 65–74 do the most household activity is also incorrect, as this peaks at 21.1 hours for that age group but is not compared with the education categories. Focus on the main trends and support them with selected figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response includes a sequence of chart-related observations and uses linking phrases such as “In addition to this,” “Furthermore,” and “Overall.” However, these points are presented as one continuous paragraph, with no clear separation between an introduction, an overview, and supporting comparisons. The progression is also difficult to follow: the discussion moves from age groups to education, then back to age, and the final overview introduces a claim about education that has not been clearly established. Some connections between ideas are unclear, particularly “The females who have a bachelor degree or higher have more employability rate.” Organise the response into distinct paragraphs and group comparisons by age and educational attainment, using linking words only where they clarify the relationship.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “leisure and sports,” “household activities,” and “age bracket,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning unclear. For example, “employability rate” does not describe the number of hours spent working, and “responsibility level” is not shown in the chart. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “weak,” “aga,” “bechlor,” and “employbility.” Use precise terms such as “hours spent working,” “educational attainment,” and “the highest/lowest figure,” and check spelling carefully. Avoid adding interpretations about employment prospects or responsibilities that the data do not measure.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning “while,” “who,” and “those who,” and the main topic is usually understandable. However, errors recur in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and phrasing. The opening, “gives us the information whether how much time,” is not a well-formed indirect question; write “shows how much time.” In “women of different age group spend,” the plural noun and verb pattern needs correction, while “those women who are in the age bracket” creates an awkward relative clause. “Overall, working is very common between age 20 to 64” also uses an incorrect range construction. Practise accurate comparisons and relative clauses, and proofread each sentence for complete, natural grammatical patterns.
