Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the chart’s three activity categories and include some relevant figures, such as 36.8 hours of leisure for women aged 15–19 and 51.7 hours for those aged 75 and over. However, the response covers the data only partially and the overview is not sufficiently accurate or developed. The claim that women aged 45–54 spend the most time on work-related activities is incorrect: their figure is 27.0 hours, tied with ages 25–34, while the highest figure is 27.4 for women with a bachelor’s degree or higher. The education paragraph reports only one group and gives a vague range for its other activities. Compare the main age and education trends more systematically and ensure each stated figure matches the chart.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs beginning with “To begin with” and “Moreover.” This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression is limited: the overview mixes general description with individual figures, and the body paragraphs do not develop a clear comparison across the chart’s age and education groups. The transition “While” introduces a sentence that is not clearly contrasted with the previous point, and “other activities” is an unclear reference because it does not specify which categories or figures are meant. Group related information into a clear age paragraph and an education paragraph, and use linking phrases to show precise comparisons rather than simply listing details.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic chart-related vocabulary to communicate the topic, including “average number of hours,” “activities,” “age groups,” and “educational attainment.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts less clear, including “leosure,” “moslty,” “activites,” and “bhours.” Phrases such as “spend mostly time” and “spend mostly times” are also unnatural, while “sports” does not accurately represent the chart’s broader category, “leisure & sports.” Use more precise reporting language and check spelling carefully. For example, “accounted for” or “spent” can replace repeated forms of “spend,” and “household activities” is clearer than the vague “other activities.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the main topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or unclear. For example, “Ages of womens starting from 15 to 75 year old and over” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence. In “In the age of women from 45 to 54 spend,” the opening phrase does not connect grammatically to the subject and verb. There are also problems with plural and possessive forms in “womens,” and the sentence beginning “While women which age started” has faulty clause structure. Practise complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and use relative clauses such as “women aged 20–24” instead of “women which age started from 20 to 24.”
