Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You provide an overview by identifying that women aged 75 and over spend the most time on leisure and the least on work, and you include some relevant figures, such as 36.8 hours for leisure among 15–19-year-olds. However, the response only partially summarises the chart. The overview’s claim that women with a high-school diploma spend the most time on leisure is inaccurate: the highest figure in the education groups is 43.1 hours for women with less than a high-school diploma. Several comparisons are vague or misleading, including saying that women aged 25–54 spend similar time on leisure and work, when leisure is higher in each of those age groups. Cover the main trends across both age and education groups more accurately and selectively.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure, with an introduction, an overview and a paragraph beginning “To begin with age.” This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, the progression is limited: the final paragraph moves from age comparisons to education groups without clearly separating or developing those points. Linking expressions such as “subsequently” and “Moreover” do not always show the relationship between the information, and “All ages women shows similar patterns” is too broad to guide the reader. Organise the details into clear comparisons—for example, one paragraph on age and another on educational attainment—and use linking phrases to show contrasts and trends precisely.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “average,” “leisure and sports,” “work related activities” and “educational attainment.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear, such as “spend their more time,” “contribute more hours,” and “similar time spend.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “illustrstes,” “numaber,” “laevels” and “nevertheless” misspelled as “neverthless.” These issues sometimes make the reader work to understand your comparisons. Use accurate, natural reporting phrases such as “spent the most time,” “recorded,” and “was higher than,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts a few longer sentence forms, including the overview sentence beginning “Overall” and the comparison starting “25 to 54 years women show…”. However, the range is limited, and frequent errors in sentence structure and agreement make several statements difficult to follow. For example, “All ages women shows similar patterns” has incorrect agreement and an unclear construction, while “High school diploma and High school graduates but no college women both are show same patterns” contains faulty word order and verb forms. Articles and plural forms are also inconsistent. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences, such as “Women aged 25–54 spent…” and “Both education groups showed…”, before adding more complex comparisons.
