Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify relevant features, including the high leisure figure for women aged 75 and over and the low working figure for teenagers. However, the response only partially summarises the chart: it gives little account of the main patterns across the age groups and education levels, and the overview is not consistently accurate. For example, women with less than a high-school diploma spend the most time on leisure, but the chart does not show that they spend their time “in a same way” as the oldest group across all activities. The claim that women aged 45–54 work more than other age groups is also inaccurate; several groups record around 27 hours, and the figure is 27.0, not 27.3. Select the clearest overall trends and support them with accurate comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure, with an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph of details, so the reader can recognise an attempt to organise the report. However, progression is limited: the final paragraph shifts from work comparisons to household activities and then leisure without clearly grouping or comparing the information. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand,” “Looking at the details,” and “By the end” are used, but some do not express the relationship between the ideas that follow. The concluding statement that all groups spent time on all activities adds little information. Organise the body around clear comparisons—for example, age patterns first and education patterns second—and use transitions that accurately signal contrast or continuation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “leisure and sports,” “household activities,” and “working & work related activities,” which helps communicate the topic. However, the range is limited and several phrases are awkward or repetitive, such as “spent their time” and “more hours than any other women.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “activites,” “lesiure,” and “tupe,” which reduce clarity and precision. Aim for concise reporting language and accurate collocations, such as “spent the most time on leisure” or “recorded the highest number of hours.” Vary verbs like “spend,” “record,” and “devote,” and check spelling carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few longer sentence forms, including “women from 45 to 54 aged spent more time … as compared to other women,” but complex constructions are often faulty, and many sentences contain errors. The opening phrase “illustrates the how many average hours” has an incorrect structure, while “75 & over aged women” and “women who completed their bachelor and higher degree” show problems with word order and articles. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent: “all women spent their time for household activities. after looking at the figures” begins a new sentence with a lowercase letter, and commas are missing after introductory phrases. Use simpler, controlled sentence patterns first, then practise accurate comparisons with forms such as “Women aged 45–54 spent…” and “Those with a bachelor’s degree or higher…”.
