Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the chart’s broad subject and note that leisure is highest for several age groups, including women aged 75 and over, at 51.7 hours. However, the response only minimally reports the data: it omits the educational-attainment comparisons entirely and gives few accurate, specific age-group comparisons. The claim that women in their twenties spend most time working is not supported by the chart: leisure is higher for both 20–24-year-olds and 25–34-year-olds. The stated work peak of 27.3 is also inaccurate; the age-group peak is 27.0, while 27.4 applies to women with a bachelor’s degree or higher. Include a clear overview of the main patterns, then select accurate comparisons from both chart sections and support them with figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic sequence: an introduction is followed by observations about age groups, and linking words such as “However” and “In all” attempt to connect ideas. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, there is no clear overall progression, and the observations overlap or conflict: the second paragraph says women in their twenties mainly work, while the final paragraph says leisure dominates across age groups. The final sentence also combines several trends without separating them clearly. Organise the report into an introduction, a concise overview, and focused detail paragraphs—for example, one on age and one on education. Use comparisons to guide the reader rather than repeating broad claims.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “primary activities,” “Leisure and sports,” and “work related activities,” so the subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “spend their time” and “most of their time.” Some word forms and collocations are inaccurate, including “different level of educations” and “reaching to the maximum.” Spelling errors such as “activites” and “fourty” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise reporting language and use the chart’s category labels consistently; this will make comparisons clearer and reduce repetition.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “However” and a final sentence linking several trends. Meaning is usually recoverable, but errors are frequent, and the longer structures are often difficult to control. For example, “women of different age group … spends” has problems with number agreement, while “women in age group of 15 to 19 … spends” also needs an article and plural agreement. The final sentence, “when they fourty,” is grammatically incomplete, and tense and agreement are inconsistent elsewhere. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete clauses before adding multiple ideas to one sentence. Shorter, well-controlled comparisons would improve clarity.
