Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the chart’s broad subject and make an effort to summarise patterns across both age and education groups. The comments that leisure rises again among older women and that household activity generally increases with age are relevant. However, the overview contains a major inaccuracy: leisure does not follow a bell shape, since it falls from 36.8 hours among 15–19-year-olds to 27.4 among 35–44-year-olds, then rises to 51.7 for women aged 75 and over. The claim that leisure is greatest for women with less education is broadly supported, but the work trend is only described as the “opposite” without figures or explanation. Select the clearest comparisons and report them accurately, including the peak and low points, to make the summary more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate comments on age, education and household activities. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several linking words do not establish a precise relationship. For example, “While in education category this trends…” begins as a dependent clause but is not clearly connected to the following idea, while “The work related activities illustrates opposite to previous trends” leaves the comparison vague. The overview also combines several points without clearly prioritising them. Use complete topic sentences and connect each comparison explicitly—for example, contrast the age pattern in leisure with the education pattern—so cohesion feels less mechanical and references are clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “leisure and sports,” “work related activities,” “education category,” and “hours a week,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or repeated expressions make the description less clear. “Every lady do hold hold activities” is difficult to interpret, and “interest of leisure” is not a natural way to describe time spent on an activity. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “activites,” “wheater,” “graducate,” and “interset.” Aim for precise, conventional terms such as “women,” “household activities,” “time spent,” and “educational attainment.” Check spelling carefully and avoid repeating “trend” when a more exact description is available.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast beginning “While…” and a relative clause in “Every lady… whether she was young or late…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “Every lady do hold” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “The work related activities illustrates” also mismatches subject and verb. The sentence beginning “While in education category…” is incomplete as written, and “in again starts increasing” has an unclear structure. Practise building accurate comparisons with a clear subject and verb, such as “Leisure time decreases until the 35–44 age group, then rises.” Use a wider range of structures only when you can maintain grammatical control.
