Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar chart illustrates the average number of hours spent by women of numerous age groups and women with varying levels of education spend on primary activities each week. There are three types of activities on which women are being compared. Firstly, working and work related activities, secondly, leisure and sports ans lastly household activities. Moreover, the age group of women are divided in between 15 years onwords 75 and over. The women are divided on the bases of educational attainment ranging from 25 years and over forthermore the education level started from less than a high school diploma to beachelor's degree and higher.
No the bases of Education women having high school diploma and less, mostly spend their time in leisure and sports whereas, the times spent in leisure and sports decresed gradually till the bachelor's and higher. It goes similar with the time spent of women in household activities as those who have high school diploma and less are most likely to spent their time in household activities however the time spending of women in household activities gradually decresed with the level of education as women having bachelor's degree and higher spent the least time in household chores. Contrarily, the chart shows the higher the degree level the higher the time spent on work related activities by the wome.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the chart’s three activity categories and make relevant comparisons for educational attainment, including the broad pattern that leisure time falls and work time rises as education increases. However, the response addresses the chart only partially: it gives no meaningful account of the age-group data, which is a major part of the task, and the final line, “According to the chart,” is unfinished. Some details are also inaccurate or imprecise: household hours do not decrease steadily across education levels, since they rise slightly from 19.6 to 20.0 hours at the lowest levels before falling. Include a clear overview of the main age and education patterns, then support it with accurate comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the opening introduces the chart, and the next paragraph focuses on education-related comparisons. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “secondly,” and “Contrarily” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the first paragraph spends too much space listing categories and group definitions, while the response does not progress to the age data or a completed conclusion. Several links are awkward or unclear, including “No the bases of Education” and the repeated use of “whereas” and “however” within long sentences. The unfinished final sentence also disrupts the ending. Use a clear overview followed by separate, logically ordered comparisons, and make each linking phrase express a precise relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “educational attainment,” “leisure and sports,” “work related activities,” and “household chores,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make the description less clear or natural. Examples include “on the bases of,” “time spending,” “spend their time in leisure,” and “the higher the degree level the higher the time spent.” Spelling errors such as “decresed,” “onwords,” and “beachelor's” are also noticeable. Aim for concise, conventional reporting language and check spelling; precise verbs such as “rose,” “declined,” and “accounted for” would help describe the figures.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, for example, “Contrarily, the chart shows the higher the degree level the higher the time spent on work related activities.” However, complex constructions are often faulty, and frequent errors affect clarity. The opening sentence repeats the verb structure (“illustrates … spend”), while “the age group of women are divided” has an agreement problem. In “those who have high school diploma and less are most likely to spent,” the article and verb form are incorrect. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also weak, particularly in the long sentences joined by “whereas” and “however.” Practise building shorter accurate comparisons first, then combine them using controlled subordinate clauses and correct agreement and verb forms.
