Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
The response includes a few relevant figures, such as 6.9 hours of work and 36.8 hours of leisure for women aged 15–19, and notes that women over 75 spend substantial time on leisure. However, it does not provide a clear overview of the chart’s main patterns or make meaningful comparisons across the age and education groups. The final point about educational attainment is incomplete and reports only one figure, so this part of the chart is barely addressed. The response also contains just 115 words, 35 below the required minimum; this leaves too little space to summarise the data adequately. To improve, state the key trends and compare the highest and lowest figures in each category, using accurate data.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response, beginning with an introduction and then referring to age and educational attainment. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the overview repeats the task wording rather than summarising the main features, and the discussion stops after an unfinished point about education. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “The next part” are used, but they do not create clear relationships between the information. The long gaps and inconsistent punctuation also interrupt the flow. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for an overview, age-group comparisons and education-group comparisons, and connect related figures directly—for example, by contrasting work hours with leisure hours.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some relevant chart vocabulary, including “average number of hours,” “working,” “leisure and sports,” and “educational attainment,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “different number of ages,” “spend lot of her time,” and “most of spend.” “Percent” is also unsuitable when reporting hours. Spelling errors such as “varios” and the repeated wording from the prompt further reduce precision. Aim for accurate collocations such as “women aged 75 and over,” “spent the most time on leisure,” and “hours per week,” and use a wider range of comparison language to describe the data.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts a few sentence forms, including a relative clause in “women with varying levels of education spend…” and a short sentence beginning “There are…”. However, control is inconsistent, and several sentences are incomplete or awkwardly formed. For example, “The women with 15 to 19 years old spend roughly 6.9 in working” lacks a natural grammatical structure, while “The next part is educational attainment of over over 25 years old womens” has problems with articles, repetition and plural formation. Capitalisation after “Overall” and punctuation around sentence boundaries are also inconsistent. Practise forming complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check articles, plurals and sentence punctuation. More accurate simple comparisons would be preferable to longer, faulty constructions.
