Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both age and education groups and identify relevant broad patterns, especially that leisure is high among teenagers and older women, while work peaks among women of working age. The comparison that leisure declines as educational attainment rises is also supported by the chart. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: household hours do not remain “same for all age group,” rising from 6.0 among teenagers to a peak of 21.1 at ages 65–74; and the claim that work and household hours are higher for young women is not generally true. The chart reports hours per week, not percentages or daily activity. A more precise overview and a few accurate figures would make the key features clearer and better supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for age and educational attainment. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the two sets of data. Some linking is effective, including “On one hand” and “On the other hand,” but connections within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “whereas” is used to join ideas without a complete, well-controlled contrast, and “Other than that” does not clearly signal the relationship between the education trends. The age paragraph also moves between leisure, household work and employment without consistently grouping comparisons. Use clearer topic sentences and organise each paragraph around one or two trends, supported by figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, such as “leisure and sports,” “household activities,” “diploma,” and “falls down,” and you attempt to vary wording with “amusement” and “work related tasks.” However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or informal for describing a chart. “Amusement” is not an appropriate substitute for leisure, “educationist” does not mean women with a particular qualification, and “spend much hours” is an unsuitable collocation. Spelling errors such as “womwn,” “lesiure,” and “bacheloe” also make the writing less clear. Prefer precise chart language and check spelling carefully; for example, use “time spent on leisure” and “women with a bachelor’s degree or higher.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including contrasts with “whereas” and “while,” and the main meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries occur across the response. Examples include “The bar illustrate,” “number of hours spend,” and “graduates spends”; these should be “The bar chart illustrates,” “the number of hours spent,” and “graduates spend.” Several sentence fragments or run-on constructions also appear, such as “Such as Work related tasks…” and “rise again.whereas…”. Use complete sentences, maintain consistent past-tense reporting, and check subject–verb agreement. More accurate control of these basic patterns would make your comparisons easier to follow.
