Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the chart’s main categories and give a relevant overview, noting that leisure is prominent and household activity generally rises with age. However, the overview is incomplete and partly inaccurate: leisure is not highest in every age group, since work-related hours exceed leisure for women aged 25–34, 35–44 and 45–54. The claim that women with the least education spent the most time on leisure also needs comparison with the other education groups. Several age details are unclear or incorrect: leisure falls to 27.4 hours at 35–44, then rises, while household activity peaks at 21.1 hours for ages 65–74 before declining. Include key contrasts and more accurate figures to develop the report more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for age and educational attainment. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the information. You also use linking expressions such as “Overall,” “In contrast,” and “Moving further” to signal shifts. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear, and long sentences run several comparisons together. For example, the sentence beginning “Turning to the details” moves from the youngest group through adulthood to older women without clear punctuation or precise age references. The education paragraph is much shorter and less developed than the age discussion. Use clearer sentence boundaries and give the two chart sections more balanced, logically grouped comparisons.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a reasonable range of chart-reporting vocabulary, including “illustrates,” “gradually decreased,” “accounted for,” and “allocated.” These choices help communicate trends and comparisons, and the meaning is generally understandable. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, however: “spent highest amount” and “highest number of hours” are less natural than “spent the most time,” while “at the adulthood tage” is unclear. There are also spelling errors, including “diplome,” “hosehold,” “furthur,” and “interetingly,” which reduce precision. Aim for accurate, natural phrases and proofread spelling; vary repeated references to “activities” with terms such as “time use” or “hours devoted to.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while” and “however,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation are noticeable. For example, “Overall,it” needs a space after the comma, and “the figures was” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “While women spent on household activities…” is not grammatically complete as written, and several sentences join independent ideas with no full stop, such as the passage ending “hours per hours.While”. These issues make some comparisons harder to process. Practise constructing complete sentences, checking singular and plural agreement, and using full stops and commas to separate contrasting trends.
