Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bar charts compares the mean numbers of hours women of different age groups and education level, spend on on three types of activities every week.
Overall, leisure and sports is by far the most common activity of females of all the age groups and vaious education levels. While, hosuehold chores is the least favourite type of activity among females except at the age 75 or above and educational attainment of high school or less.
Among age groups, leisure and sports accounted the most favourite activity of all age gropus from 15 to 75 and above, where women are spending upto approximately 52 hours in a week. Followed by, working and work related acitivties which in increasing slowly from about 7 hours a week at the age of 15 to 19, to about 27 hours at age group 45 to 54, after this it starts to fall down step by step to about only 1 hour at age 75 and above. Hosehold actvities showed smiliar uptrend from average 6 hours a week in younge age to upto 21 hours at the age to 74. After, at age 75 and above its decreased to 19.5 hours in a week.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both age and education groups and identify the main pattern that leisure and sports takes the most time. You also report useful trends, such as work rising to around 27 hours in middle age before falling, and household activity increasing with age before dipping among the oldest women. However, the overview is not fully accurate: household activities are not the least-time category for women aged 75 and over, since work is only 1.3 hours; nor are they least for women with high-school education or less, where work is lower. The claim that leisure is the most common activity across all groups is also incorrect for women aged 25–44, whose work hours are slightly higher. More precise comparisons and a corrected overview would make the key features clearer and more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by separate paragraphs for age and educational attainment. This makes the two sets of comparisons easy to locate, and linking expressions such as “In contrast” help signal a change in pattern. The progression within the age paragraph is also generally logical. However, some transitions are awkward or incomplete, including “Followed by,” and “After,” which interrupt the flow. The overview’s “While” fragment and the abrupt sentence beginning “are more in early education” also weaken connections between ideas. To strengthen the organisation further, use complete transitions and connect each comparison directly to its subject rather than relying on short, loosely attached phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of chart vocabulary, including “accounted,” “gradually decreasing,” “steadily decreased,” and “increased steadily,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “most favourite activity,” “fall down,” and “early education.” Spelling errors—including “vaious,” “hosuehold,” “gropus,” and “actvities”—are noticeable and reduce the precision of the report. Some terms are also repeated, particularly “activity” and “hours.” Aim for accurate, conventional expressions for describing data, and proofread spelling carefully; this will make your vocabulary more controlled and the trends easier to interpret.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons introduced by “where” and “as,” and most of the intended meaning remains understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction are frequent enough to limit accuracy. For example, “The bar charts compares” should use a plural verb, while “leisure and sports is” needs a plural subject or a different construction. “The number of hours … gradually decreasing” lacks a finite verb, and “as the level of eucation increased” does not maintain the intended tense consistently. There are also fragments, such as “Followed by,” and a sentence beginning “are more in early education.” Practise complete sentences with clear subjects and consistent verb forms, then check agreement and punctuation.
