Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's world, a lot of people think that being fat is a very big problem. They blame on junk food advertising for this problem. But some people feel that it is not about junk food advertising.
Firstly, fat peoples had to survive many problem in our socity for just they are fat. So some people blame on junk food advertising. They believe that advertising of junk food make cravings on people. So the eat a lot of junk food. It makes them fat day by day. They can not control themselves after watching any junk food advertise on TV. For example if anyone is watching movies and he saw a advertise of junk food then he wil order that. And the think that is the main reason for obesity.
On the other hand, few people think that it is not about advertising. People have to control their cravings. They say that advertising is just a business strategy. Companies advertise their food or product for increase their sells. They have that right. They thin that the man who is fat, he have to controll himself. For example if anyone saw a advertise of junk food he had to control him. Thats is his fault if he order that food.
In my opinion, the second view is right. Because company have the right for advertising their food. So you can not ban them. If someone is fat than he should exercise regularly. And also he should control him and try to avoid ordering junk food.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state your position clearly: you explain that advertising may trigger cravings, then argue that individuals should control their choices and companies should be allowed to advertise. This covers the main parts of the question. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The first view relies mainly on the claim that seeing an advert leads someone to order food, while the opposing view repeats that people should control themselves. The response also does not explore other contributors to obesity or explain why advertising may have a limited or significant effect. To strengthen the argument, develop each side with a reasoned example or evidence, and explain more fully why you consider personal responsibility more important than advertising.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion stating your opinion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the change in viewpoint. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive: the idea that people should control their cravings is stated several times without adding a new supporting point. Some links between ideas are also abrupt, particularly the move from advertising to obesity and then to personal responsibility. Use clearer cause-and-effect connections and develop each paragraph around distinct supporting points. More precise referencing would also help readers track who “they” refers to in sentences such as “They believe that advertising…”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the basic argument, including “junk food advertising,” “cravings,” “business strategy,” and “obesity.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, especially “fat,” “advertising,” and “control.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or informal, such as “make cravings on people,” “a advertise,” and “increase their sells,” which can make the meaning less natural. Spelling errors, including “socity,” “wil,” and “controll,” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise terms for discussing causes and responsibility, and check spelling and common word partnerships. For example, describe adverts as “encouraging people to buy” rather than saying they “make cravings.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate the main ideas using mostly short, direct sentences, and you attempt some longer structures with “if” and “because.” However, the range of sentence forms is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “fat peoples had to survive many problem,” “advertising … make cravings,” and “the man who is fat, he have to controll himself,” where plural forms, subject–verb agreement, and sentence construction are not controlled. Articles and verb forms also need attention, as in “he saw a advertise” and “he wil order that.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a supporting clause, then check agreement, articles, and past or present verb forms before adding more complex structures.
