Student answer (Band 6.0)
In todays modern era obesity has become a major concern. group of people think that the commercials are the greatest reason of promoting fast food among them, which should be banned. Whereas, this is not an issue and should not be stopped because there are some other factors that are responsible for the same. This easy thus shell delves into both view point with my opinion in my upcoming paragraphs.
overweight condition has many other aspects which will explain as follows. First and foremost is sedentary life style. More precisely, people are now start doing things while setting at home and they do not even prefer to go outside such as there are many online platforms from where they can buy food without any exercise. Another reason that can not be consider less is health issues, as everyone is going through stressful life nowadays and also they have bad eating habits which can be the cause of health concerns such as thyroid and hormonal imbalance which can increase the weigh of people by doing such things.
On the other hand, number of people opine that advertisements should be banned because this encourage people to buy unhealthy food which is leading to the obesity among them as they influenced easily by tv which shows junk food look delicious and attractive. Moreover, hectic schedule is another cause of gaining weight, everyone is in the rat race of earn bread and butter for their family therefore, they do not have immense time to do house chorus and prepare food at home. Hence, they prefer to order food from outside which they think is quick service and they do not need to go anywhere.
To conclude, although advertisements attract people's eating habits, I believe it is not the only cause of obesity. Therefore, instead of complete ban, government should restrict advertisements aimed at people while also promoting a healthy lifestyle through education and public awareness.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding sedentary lifestyles is relevant, but the explanation of health issues like 'thyroid and hormonal imbalance' is slightly tangential to the core debate about junk food advertising. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments could be more robustly linked to the specific impact of advertising versus other societal factors. Overall, the response meets the requirements of the task but lacks the depth of analysis expected at higher bands.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First and foremost', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'This easy thus shell delves', which contains a typo and awkward phrasing. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences occasionally feels disjointed due to grammatical errors. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'sedentary life style', 'hormonal imbalance', and 'public awareness'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'greatest reason of promoting' instead of 'primary reason for promoting', and 'house chorus' instead of 'house chores'. These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the score as the range is not sufficiently flexible or precise for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'In todays modern era' (missing apostrophe), 'people are now start doing' (incorrect verb form), 'Another reason that can not be consider less' (incorrect passive voice), and 'increase the weigh' (incorrect word form). Punctuation is also inconsistent. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to suggest a lack of control over complex structures.
