IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In some societies, obesity is regarded as a major problem. Some people believe that junk food advertising is largely to blame for this problem and should be banned. However, others feel that junk food advertising does not contribute to the problem of obesity and should not be banned.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience·and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence. Write at least 250 words.

Among the age groups, women aged 15 to 19 spent the greatest amount of time on leisure and sports (35.8 hours), compared with only 6.9 hours on work and 6 hours on household activities. Working hours then increased sharply, reaching a peak of around 27 hours among those aged 25 to 34, before gradually declining with age. By contrast, leisure time generally rose after middle age, reaching 51.7 hours among women aged 75 and over. Household activities also increased from 6 hours in the youngest group to approximately 19.5 hours in the oldest group.

In terms of educational attainment, women with less than a high school diploma recorded the highest amount of leisure time (43.1 hours), while those holding a bachelor's degree or higher spent the least time on leisure (around 27.4 hours). Conversely, work-related activities were highest among women with a bachelor's degree or above and lowest among those without a high school diploma. Time spent on household activities showed relatively little variation across the four educational groups, remaining between roughly 15 and 20 hours per week.
