Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding healthy food advertisements is not directly relevant to the core issue of whether junk food advertising causes obesity. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, and the suggestion to 'limit' advertisements is introduced late without sufficient explanation of how this would function. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, logical evidence for why junk food advertising is or is not the primary driver of obesity, rather than listing general benefits of advertising in general.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, and there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moving on the other hand', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'Moving on the other hand', which is not a standard transition. Additionally, the flow between sentences is occasionally disrupted by grammatical errors, making the progression of ideas feel slightly disjointed at times. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure could be improved by ensuring each paragraph has a stronger, more unified focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'vitul', 'sucess', 'amory', 'aloy', 'advestisement', 'impore') and some awkward collocations, such as 'advertisements of food does not the main problem'. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'financial burden' and 'nutrients', the frequent spelling and word-choice errors occasionally impede the reader's flow. To improve, focus on mastering the spelling of common academic terms and ensuring that your word choices are contextually appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'other considers', 'people wants'), missing verbs (e.g., 'should be [banned]'), and incorrect preposition usage. Some sentences are incomplete or lack necessary articles, which affects the clarity of your arguments. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb forms and sentence completion.
