Student answer (Band 5.5)
Various people see obesity as a big problem . Many people think that fast food advertising is culprit for this and it should be banned but on the other hand, some societies think that fast food advertising is not the main reason for the problem of obesity and should not be banned.
I believe that junk good advertising is a culprit for the problem of obesity and I will explain the reasons in following paragraphs.
Start with the first opinion, obesity is getting very common in today’s generation because people are eating very unhealthy food and do not putting any efforts to keep their health good. People watch advertisements of many junk foods and they start craving for them even when they have already done their meal like lunch and dinner. Many people are replacing their lunch or dinner with junk food . Advertisement plays a big role for this because they portray their product as a healthy snacks and do not explain the nutrition value or ingredients. People get fooled by the big advertisement companies. If the junk food advertising will be banned then many people will get back to their roots and start eat healthy again because they will not see any advertising of fast food and will not crave for it .
So, in my opinion junk food advertising should be banned because junk food is not good for health and gives us problem like obesity. Obesity is very harmful problem which will leads to major diseases. So, we should eat healthy and clean

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that advertisements portray products as healthy, the argument could be strengthened by discussing the counter-argument (that personal choice or other factors like sedentary lifestyles are more significant) in more detail. The conclusion is a bit brief and repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure that both sides of the prompt are explored with equal depth and that your supporting examples are more specific and analytical rather than generalized statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'Start with the first opinion', 'So, in my opinion'). The transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. For instance, the jump from discussing cravings to the suggestion of banning advertisements feels abrupt. Using a wider variety of linking words and phrases—such as 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'on the contrary'—would improve the flow and logical progression of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'big problem', 'good', and 'bad'. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'junk good' (likely a typo for 'food') and 'culprit for this'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to health, marketing, and public policy. Avoid repeating the same words multiple times in close proximity, as this limits the sophistication of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You have several grammatical errors, such as 'do not putting any efforts' (should be 'do not put any effort'), 'leads to major diseases' (should be 'lead to'), and 'start eat healthy' (should be 'start eating healthily'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces appearing before periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of gerunds and infinitives to improve your accuracy.
