Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's world, obesity is the major health concern among the people. There are people who devote that advertising of junk food is the main reason of the obesity while other individuals think that it is not the alone reason for obesity. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give my opinion why only advertisement is not only cause of obesity.
On the one hand, advertisement is created by the way that young people and children led to eat unhealthy foods. Commercial junk food showed in the television and social media platforms are colorful, attractive and enjoyable that children and young people are influenced by these types of adds. Furthermore, fast food companies hire the popular models, actors who are very famous among the young generation, as well as to attract children they add animated cartoons. By seeing these youngsters and children are being attracted to junk foods.
On the other hand, some people believe that advertising is not only problem for obesity. Obesity is also should blame for people's busy schedules and lifestyles. Nowadays people are very busy in their life, so they choose fast food for their easy option that can save their time and they can also focus on other things. Secondly, people have their knowledge about how to choose good food for their health, they cannot easily influenced by seeing advertisements. They can take their own decisions. Banning completely junk food advertisement will make companies big loss on their businesses. Government should take some strict and alternative actions rather than a complete ban on junk food advertisement.
In Conclusion, I believe that obesity is not only caused by seeing an advertisement, but it is also caused by individual's lifestyles. So, strict actions are the better solution as compared to complete ban of advertisements,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of media on children and the role of busy lifestyles. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the economic impact of banning advertisements is mentioned but not fully explored. The position is consistent throughout the essay, but the depth of analysis could be improved to reach a higher band by providing more specific examples or evidence to support the claims made.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'By seeing these youngsters and children are being attracted to junk foods'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'commercial', 'influenced', and 'alternative actions'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'devote' instead of 'state' or 'argue', and 'not the alone reason' instead of 'not the sole reason'. The range is sufficient for the task, but more sophisticated or precise vocabulary would be needed to achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with article usage ('the major health concern', 'the obesity'), verb forms ('Obesity is also should blame'), and sentence construction ('Commercial junk food showed in the television... are colorful'). These errors are noticeable but do not significantly impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice constructions.
