Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views and providing an opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and often unclear. For instance, the argument regarding 'positive affects' of fast food is underdeveloped and lacks logical support. The essay struggles to maintain a clear position throughout, as the arguments are fragmented and sometimes contradictory. While all parts of the task are addressed, the lack of depth and the disjointed nature of the reasoning prevent a higher score. To improve, you should focus on structuring each paragraph around a single, well-supported main idea.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure, with no distinct paragraphing to separate the introduction, body, and conclusion. The progression of ideas is difficult to follow, as the transition between sentences is often abrupt or missing. Cohesive devices are used minimally and sometimes incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'people' and 'junk food' without effective referencing. The overall arrangement is mechanical, making it challenging for the reader to identify the logical flow of your argument. Using clear topic sentences and linking words would significantly improve the readability of your work.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'sociaty' for 'society', 'reponsible' for 'responsible', and 'addoped' for 'adopted'. Phrases like 'urgently power' and 'mind statification' are unclear and do not convey the intended meaning. While you attempt to use some topic-related vocabulary, the lack of precision and the high frequency of errors impede communication. Expanding your vocabulary through reading and focusing on correct collocations will help you convey your points more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are often grammatically incorrect. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, such as 'childern has lack' and 'he suffering'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many sentences lacking proper capitalization or ending with incorrect punctuation marks. These persistent errors often cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and practicing the use of articles and prepositions, which are currently missing or misused throughout the text.
