Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention that junk food contains chemicals and affects the immune system, these points are not fully expanded with strong evidence or logical depth. The arguments regarding why some people oppose a ban are also quite brief and repetitive. To improve, you should focus on providing more detailed explanations and specific examples to support your claims, ensuring that each paragraph contributes significantly to the overall discussion rather than simply restating the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'So the people are should be banned' is confusing and does not logically connect to the previous sentence. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'This type of people are feel that junk food not problem'. To achieve a higher score, you should use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'nevertheless') and ensure that your sentences flow naturally from one to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'junk food', 'people', and 'problem'. There are several instances of awkward word choice and incorrect collocations, such as 'provide the longer time fresh' instead of 'preserve freshness' or 'extend shelf life'. You also struggle with word forms, using 'weakness' as an adjective and 'banned' incorrectly in the context of a noun. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to health and nutrition and practice using words in their correct grammatical forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'junk food are very dangerous'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'I would like to banned'), and missing articles or prepositions. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, such as 'if people are eating the junk food there immunity system are weak day by day'. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of auxiliary verbs, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
