Student answer (Band 5.0)

In modern times, the issue of having a obesity has become highly controversial. It is often to said that junk food is the major problem to our health. Some people argue that advertising a junk food create all this issue and should be banned. While other feel that unhealthy food publicity does not contribute to the problem. In this essay, I partially agree with this statement, and I will examine both sides of argument, and provide my overall opinion.

Generally speaking, there a number of reasons why people believe that fast food advertising is the main problem for obesity. Perhaps the main reason why people think that is because food marketing influences people to buy their products. A good illustration is that, companies are several offer for product to buy customer and promoting their food, now a days Bangladeshi food producer follow this trend and increase their customer capacity. As a result, citizens are feeling sick when they eat oily food. Secondly, factories are do not give currect information about product and they reduce lack of information in their advertisement for promotional view. As a result, individuals are do not know anything and they may suffer from various diseases such as obesity.

On the other hand, there are also strong arguments for the idea that adversiting does not contribute to the problem of obesity. Perhaps the main reason why people are in favor of this view is because public should aware of this products. For example, when factories are packaging their product, that time producer include all details in package so they are not involved in public obesity. Furthermore, people do not take execise regularly after finish their meal so they do not blame the goods or marketing. People are only reason for their unhealthy ness. Brand promotion is well for our country to grow publicity.

In conclusion, it must be said that obesity has become a complex issue with no easy solutions. Having both side of view, I partially agree with all issues.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on junk food advertising and providing a personal opinion, as seen in the introduction and body paragraphs. A clear position is stated ('I partially agree with this statement'). However, the development of ideas tends to be repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the arguments regarding advertising influencing purchases and companies omitting information are stated generally without sufficient supporting evidence or robust examples. The mention of 'Bangladeshi food producer' is somewhat abrupt and under-developed. While the main task requirements are met, the reasoning requires greater extension and precision to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement and follows a standard four-paragraph structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Basic cohesive devices are used, such as 'Secondly', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas is hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For example, sentences like 'Having both side of view, I partially agree with all issues' create confusion and disrupt the logical flow. Paragraphing is present and appropriate for a task of this nature, but the internal cohesion requires better control.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate basic points about health and advertising. However, there are frequent word choice errors and awkward collocations throughout the essay, such as 'having a obesity', 'advertising a junk food', 'reduce lack of information', and 'unhealthy ness'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary like 'controversial' and 'promotional view', inaccuracies in word formation and collocation prevent the response from achieving a higher score. Spelling is generally acceptable, but lexical control remains limited.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'Perhaps the main reason why people think that is because food marketing influences people to buy their products.' However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and prepositions throughout the text. Examples include 'It is often to said', 'other feel', 'factories are do not give currect information', and 'people do not take execise regularly after finish their meal'. These errors occur regularly and occasionally cause strain for the reader, though communication is generally maintained.
