Student answer (Band 5.0)
Obesity is a major problem as it causes other health problems like diabetes, heart diseases etc. In some countries, obesity is regarded as major health problem where some people blame junk food as it's cause while some people balme other health problem or genetics as it's main reason.
Unhealthy eating habits like eating junk foods is one of the main reason for obesity but in some people. To address the problem of obesity for these types of people, it is believed that junk food advertising should be banned as it will somehow eradicate the problem of obesity.
Conversely, it is assumed that junk food advertising should not be banned as it doesnot contrubite to problem of obesity . It is believed that obesity is generally common in people that have other health problems which cause weight gain.
According to my perspective both are the reasosns of the obesity. In my country there are people who are facing obese due to consumption of unhealthy foods while on the other hand, there are people who are obese due to either health problems or genetics. So, by banning the food advertisements it will not solve the problem of obesity.
In conclusion, solving one aspect of problem can never eradicate the probelm of obesity .To solve this problem proper balancied diet should be ensured along with banning the junk food advertisements as they have chemicals which is not good for health and causes imbalance in harmonal system. But remember small measures can help us to stop this problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on junk food advertising and providing a personal opinion. The writer introduces the problem of obesity and acknowledges both perspectives: that advertising contributes to weight gain, and that genetics or other health conditions are to blame. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. For example, the statement 'According to my perspective both are the reasosns of the obesity' is supported rather superficially with personal observation rather than fully extended argumentation. The conclusion attempts to balance the views by suggesting a combined approach of a balanced diet and advertising restrictions. While all requirements of the task are touched upon, the lack of depth and elaboration places this performance at Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some overall organization, with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing the opposing views, a personal perspective paragraph, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently hindered by mechanical and repetitive cohesive devices. Phrases such as 'In some countries', 'Conversely', and 'In conclusion' are used, but transitions between sentences often feel abrupt. For instance, the paragraph structure is disjointed, with several very short sentences that lack smooth connections. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as when pronouns lack distinct antecedents. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas is sometimes illogical, leading to a score of 5.0 for coherence and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on simple terms like 'problem', 'obesity', and 'health problems'. There are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, including 'balme' instead of 'blame', 'contrubite' instead of 'contribute', 'reasosns' instead of 'reasons', 'obese' used as a noun ('facing obese'), and 'harmonal' instead of 'hormonal'. These lexical inaccuracies and misspellings occasionally cause strain for the reader, although communication is not completely impeded. The range of vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for the task, reflecting a standard consistent with Band 4.5, rounded to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as article omissions and misuse ('cause weight gain', 'facing obese due to'), subject-verb agreement issues ('doesnot contrubite'), and punctuation errors. Complex structures are often faulty or awkward, for example: 'So, by banning the food advertisements it will not solve the problem of obesity.' These persistent errors frequently cause difficulty for the reader and demonstrate a lack of reliable grammatical control, aligning with the Band 4.5 descriptors, rounded to Band 5.0.
