Student answer (Band 4.5)

Some people believe that junk food advertising is largely to blame for this problem and should be banned. Others believe that junk food advertising does not contribute to the problem of health isssues and should not be banned. I believe that junk food advertisilyng not directly involved to the health problems and it should not be banned.

Now a days, Mostly young generation involved in junk food and peoples are more addicted to used the junk food usually at parties, friends get to gether even at home to maintain the standard of upper class. Junk food not directly harm to the health of the people. There are multiple reasons involved to damage your health. For example, people use junk food in large quantity even in the morning or specially in mid nights. After that they are not following the proper exercise and not follow the physical activities that will move forward to obesity.

Additionally, Mostly men and women are job holders or running own business. They have very less time to spend at home and cook the proper meal at home. So, they perfer to order from ouside because its very easy way to get the food at office or home in very reasonable price during the short time period. Meanwhile, Young peoples are very health concious. So, they do not like to eat oily and desi food. Because its against the standard of the modern people. Therefore, they perfer junk food to maintain the standard of high class community.

In conclusion, Junk food is not a problem for health and advertising should not be banned beacuse its help in multiple ways and not directly involved to the problem of obesity. I believe on the above mentioned arguments, Advertising of the junk food should not be bananed becuase its important for the young generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the prompt minimally, presenting a position that junk food advertising does not cause obesity, but the ideas remain heavily under-developed and limited. The text acknowledges both views superficially at the beginning and gives a personal opinion, yet the supporting points lack depth and adequate explanation. For instance, claiming that junk food is consumed to maintain an upper-class standard is asserted without logical elaboration or strong examples. The arguments tend to repeat the same basic premise across different paragraphs rather than extending them with well-reasoned evidence. To improve, the writer needs to fully explore both sides of the debate regarding advertising regulations and provide detailed, well-supported arguments rather than brief assertions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation evident with basic paragraphing and general connectors like 'Now a days', 'Additionally', and 'In conclusion', but the overall progression of ideas lacks clarity. Cohesive devices are sometimes used inaccurately or repetitively, such as the constant use of 'So' and 'Because' to link clauses. Paragraphing is attempted, though the logical flow within paragraphs is frequently disrupted by abrupt shifts in ideas, such as moving from busy work schedules to the social status of food without smooth transitions. Referencing is occasionally unclear, leaving the reader to guess the connection between sentences. To achieve a higher band, the writer should ensure a clearer progression of thought and use a wider variety of cohesive devices more accurately and naturally.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for the task, featuring noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation. Words like 'isssues', 'advertisilyng', 'concious', and 'beacuse' demonstrate recurring spelling issues, while lexical choices such as 'job holders' instead of working professionals or employees show restricted control of collocation. The vocabulary remains repetitive throughout the response, relying heavily on basic terms like 'junk food', 'health', and 'problem'. There are also awkward word forms, such as 'perfer' and 'bananed'. To progress further, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire, learn accurate spelling and word forms, and incorporate less common vocabulary with greater precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response displays a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside frequent attempts at complex forms that turn out faulty. There are persistent errors in subject-verb agreement, articles, plurals, and prepositions, such as 'Mostly young generation involved', 'peoples are more addicted to used', and 'not follow the physical activities that will move forward to obesity'. Grammatical patterns are frequently disrupted, making some sentences difficult to parse, such as 'Junk food not directly harm to the health of the people.' Punctuation is also basic and occasionally intrusive. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over complex sentence structures and significantly reduce the frequency of basic grammatical errors.
