Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the prompt minimally, attempting to discuss both views on junk food advertising and obesity, though the position remains unclear and confused throughout. Several ideas are limited and under-developed, with repetitive statements rather than extended arguments. For instance, phrases like "fatness is regarded as a central hurdle" and "fast food advertisements... should be boycott" attempt to touch upon the task requirements, but the arguments become tangential or contradictory, such as claiming "symptoms of obesity are not due to advertising and could be arise." While the length requirement is met, the ideas lack the necessary depth and clear progression to fully satisfy the prompt's demands, meaning the response sits firmly at the lower end of task fulfillment.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

The information and ideas are not arranged coherently, leading to a lack of clear overall progression. Although the writer attempts to use paragraphing, the boundaries are confusing, and sentences frequently jump between disparate thoughts without logical transitions. Cohesive devices are either missing, inadequate, or inaccurate, creating a disjointed reading experience. For example, expressions like "The major point is that we attract ourselves to fresh things. Be fresh, be active. To avoid fast food hte eay is to make your life better" demonstrate abrupt shifts in focus and poor referencing. The overall organization fails to guide the reader smoothly through a structured debate, placing this aspect of the writing within the lower development bands.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, featuring noticeable word choice, word form, and spelling errors that frequently strain the reader. The writer relies heavily on simple terms and attempts less common vocabulary with severe inaccuracy, such as using "colonies" instead of societies, "boycott" instead of banned, and "obestiy" as a misspelling. Collocations are often awkward or unnatural, as seen in phrases like "get individuals reviews" and "procure wealth they has been doing advertisements." While the range of vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey a rudimentary topic, the frequency of lexical errors limits precision and stylistic appropriateness, characteristic of this specific band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a very limited range of structures, with attempts at complex sentences often resulting in faulty syntax. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions that can cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include "could be arise," "junk food is cause of serious health issues," and "they has been doing advertisements." Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also inconsistently handled, leading to run-on thoughts or fragmented structures. While a mix of simple clauses is attempted, the persistence of basic grammatical inaccuracies prevents the writing from achieving a more secure control over sentence patterns.
