Student answer (Band 5.0)
In most cases societies regard , obesity as a major issue. Mainly because people belive that junk food overhype is mostly responsible for this problem and measures should be taken into account before it goes out of control. On the other hand, some still believe that junk food advertising has nothing to do with problems related to obesity. In my perspective, i completely agree that junck food is responsible for obesity.
First of all, Obesity is a leading problem in many communities and social media influencers and other advertisement strtegies are promoting their products without taking into account the adverse affects their products have on peopels health. For example, social media marketing of greasy products like burgers, french fries and other items that was stored in the feezers for a long period of time can have detrimental effects on health like digestive problems by overconsumption of artifical flavours and overly processed food items. As a result, individuals fall sick and become gradually patients to high blood pressure, overeating and digestive problems like acid reflux.
Secondly, people are still not willing to accept the negative outcomes junck food had on their life styles. This is mainly because of the enhanced artifical flavours which normal spicies could never create. Another reason is that processed food tastes way better than natural food even though there are any nutrients in proccessed items. Food scientists worked a lot to make this possible and people are not willing to stop because of their addictive nature.
In conclusion, the food advertisement companies are the ones to blame but the ones who made those products are equally responsible for the bad effects it has on society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear opinion that advertising and junk food contribute to obesity, and you include relevant points about social-media promotion, processed food, and health effects. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the opposing position is only briefly introduced in the opening: you do not explain why some people think advertising has little effect or should not be banned. Your supporting examples also focus more on the food itself and its ingredients than on how advertising influences choices. The conclusion adds that manufacturers share responsibility, but this point is not developed. To strengthen the response, explain both sides explicitly and connect each example directly to the question of advertising and a possible ban.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of your argument. However, the overall progression is limited: the second body paragraph discusses taste and people’s unwillingness to stop eating processed food, but its connection to the opposing view about advertising is unclear. Some links are also abrupt, particularly the move from advertising to specific health conditions in the first body paragraph. Develop one central point in each paragraph and use clearer references to show how each example supports it. This would make the organisation more coherent and the linking less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-specific vocabulary, including “adverse effects,” “overconsumption,” “processed food,” and “addictive nature,” which helps communicate your ideas about diet and health. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “belive,” “overhype,” “strtegies,” “feezers,” and “artifical.” Some expressions are also awkward or unclear: “become gradually patients” and “even though there are any nutrients” do not convey the intended meaning naturally. Aim to use accurate collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise language for the debate—such as “influence purchasing decisions” or “restrict commercial promotion”—would also help you discuss advertising rather than only food products.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and some longer sentences, including a sentence beginning “For example” that attempts to explain a cause and its effects. However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “Mainly because people believe…” is a sentence fragment, while “products that was stored” has incorrect agreement and tense. The opening also has punctuation problems, and “In my perspective, i completely agree” contains an incorrectly capitalised pronoun. In “even though there are any nutrients,” the clause is not grammatically formed for the intended contrast. Practise complete sentence construction, subject–verb agreement, and accurate clause linking, then proofread punctuation and capitalisation.
