Student answer (Band 5.5)
There are two different opinions for obesity which is regarded as a major problem by individuals in community. While some belive that it is because of junk food commercials is a major cause for this problem and should be banned, other opinion is obesity is not because of the commericials and should not be banned. Therefor, priror to my opinion both the sides are discussed inn suring writes ups with appropriate example.
Discussing the former opinion, junk food commercials are the reason for the obesity in society it is because there lots of platform on which the advertisment can run for there food due to which people easily get attracted to the food while watching advertisment and order the food even if they are full. which can lead in increasing calroie intake. To elaborate the people watching the movie or youtube and the food advertisment came on platform people will instanly order food even id they are not hungry whcich can lead to incraesing weight.
Conversely, the suppoters of the opposite opinion have theri own argument. to begin with, many person do not trust food commercials because they like to order the food by their own choice or by close relative or friend recommendation, they think that there are many restaureant in market why should they order from the new shop. Moreover, the they like just habitual of ordering junk food from a specific place and do not want to try new thing.
To riterate, although, people are unaffected by advertisements and use recoomendations, i support former viewpoint to a great extent. This is because junk food is most common and favourite of peoples so they order the food when they see the advertisment and can not control the craving for their favourite food.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a clear preference for the view that advertising contributes to obesity, particularly in the conclusion. The first body paragraph gives a relevant explanation: adverts may prompt people to order food even when they are full, increasing calorie intake. However, the opposing view is less fully explained; the points about trusting recommendations and sticking to familiar restaurants do not clearly show why advertising has little effect on obesity overall. Your position is also introduced awkwardly in the opening, so it is not immediately clear. Develop each side with a more precise explanation or example, and make your own view explicit from the introduction onward.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “Conversely,” “Moreover,” and “To reiterate” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas run together, especially in the first body paragraph, where the explanation shifts from advertising platforms to watching films or YouTube and ordering food. Some linking phrases are also mechanical or awkwardly placed, and references such as “the former opinion” require the reader to look back. Use clearer topic sentences and divide explanations into complete, logically connected sentences so the relationships between claims and examples are easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “junk food commercials,” “advertisement,” “calorie intake,” “recommendation,” and “craving,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “two different opinions for obesity,” “lead in increasing weight,” and “favourite of peoples.” Spelling errors—including “belive,” “commericials,” and “calroie”—also make the writing less clear and reduce control. Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, describe adverts as “influencing food choices” and explain that frequent consumption can “contribute to weight gain,” rather than repeating “order the food.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While some believe…” and a concession in the conclusion. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors frequently make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. For instance, “While some believe that it is because of junk food commercials is a major cause” contains an incomplete or duplicated structure, while “people watching the movie or YouTube and the food advertisement came” lacks a clear main clause and consistent tense. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries. Practise building one complete main clause at a time, then add subordinate clauses, and check punctuation and verb forms.
