Student answer (Band 5.0)

In today's rapidly changing world, the topic of obesity sparked a considerable debate. While some people believe that junk food adverstisement is the main culprit of this decease, other argues that junk food advertisement is not the main problem of obesity. I believe, advertisement is not only the main reason of obesity but the lack of physical activities is fueling that deadly decease.

To begin with, one of the strongest reason of not supporting the advertisement of junk food in speading obesity is that people lacking physical excerises. In past, people were invloved many physical activities which helped them to burn out the fats easily. Those people were considered joging as an essential part of their life. For instance, people of past were contributed in physical game like Football etc. which helped them to run and streached their whole body. Ultimately, these physical games results in fat loss and strength their body muscles.

Furthermore, we should not only advertise junk food but also promote physical trainings alongside as well. The advertisement agencies should also be give equally importance to adversitement of physical excerises. For intance, if a person intake some extra calories in form of junk food, he should need to perform some physical trainings either by going to Gym or adopt any other way. We should also promote the products which have rich proteins. That helped in fat loss and results in less obesity among the people.

In conclusion, advertising junk food should not only be blamed, Infact we should advertise physical fitness awareness among the people which attracts them towards Gym or some other way to less adopt obesity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a clear view that physical inactivity, rather than advertising alone, is a major cause of obesity, and you offer relevant examples such as sport and exercise. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the opposing argument—that advertising contributes to obesity and should be banned—is not meaningfully explained. The opening mentions this position, but the body mainly argues against blaming advertising and recommends promoting exercise; it does not examine why people support a ban or weigh the two views. Your ideas about past activity and promoting fitness are also asserted more than developed. To improve, explain each side fairly, then support your own position with a specific reason or example and a direct conclusion about whether advertising should be banned.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

Your response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of your argument. However, the progression is not fully logical: the first body paragraph discusses past physical activity, while the second shifts to promoting exercise and protein products, without clearly connecting these points to the two opposing views in the question. The contrast between the views is therefore difficult to follow, and the conclusion largely repeats the fitness argument rather than resolving the debate. Some links between sentences are also unclear, particularly “That helped in fat loss,” where the reference is uncertain. Organise the body around the two views and use clear links to show how each point supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “obesity,” “physical activities,” “calories,” “proteins,” and “advertisement,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “considerable debate” and “main culprit.” This gives you a basic range for discussing the subject. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “adverstisement,” “decease,” “excerises,” and “intake,” and several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, such as “burn out the fats,” “physical trainings,” and “less adopt obesity.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning harder to understand. Aim to learn accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “burn calories,” “do physical exercise,” and “reduce the risk of obesity.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrastive opening with “While” and a conditional sentence beginning “if a person…”. This shows some willingness to vary sentence forms. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “other argues” instead of a plural verb, “one of the strongest reason,” and “people were invloved many physical activities,” which lacks a necessary preposition. The sentence “he should need to perform” also combines modal forms incorrectly, while “That helped in fat loss and results…” has an unclear subject and inconsistent verb form. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build complex sentences while checking subject–verb agreement and verb patterns.
