Student answer (Band 5.0)
Obesity is one of the biggest challenges we are currently facing, and it's reason are actively, the ideas being discussed are of many umber some says it's beacause of fast food advertisment some says it's generally beacause it's more convenient while other has idea like thr laziness involved in it. The one related to fast food advertisements holds much of its weight. Even though the food involves processed sugar and fats, the food chains are truly aware of this. Still, they bring on supermodels and actors nd different athletes to their advertisements watching such ads. Those fits actors on screen a normal person cannot process the reality of these foods linked to obesity as people usually beleives in what they see, and what they see in those advertisement are fit actors and athletes where in reality those sctors and athletes won't even touch those foods most of the time. Still, for money and fame, they will collaborate with such junk food companies regardless of knowing its harmful impact on common people. Those who don't agree with this idea do so because they believe the reason lies in one's lifestyle. Some people eat junk food and still stay fit, while others don't; it's because those who eat and stay at home without any exercise or other activities will get obesity, no matter whether they eat junk food or good-quality organic food, because not only is food a factor, but our lifestyles are too. So in my opinion, the bad caused by junk food advertisement is far more than the one with our lifestyles, governments should work on this not to portray fake scenarios of junk fods like energy drinks etc and do not involve kids in rheir advertisemsnts as they are too naive and beleives in almost anything they say, also we should all have a healthy lifestyles like active axercise participation in sports and other healthy activities in order to beat the problem of obesity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear opinion: you argue that advertising has a stronger harmful effect, while also acknowledging that lifestyle and exercise influence obesity. The examples about celebrities promoting food and people who remain fit despite eating junk food are relevant to the debate. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the argument against banning advertising is explained mainly through a brief lifestyle comparison, and the claim that advertising causes more harm is asserted rather than supported with evidence or a specific example. Your recommendation to restrict misleading portrayals and avoid involving children adds a practical response, but the essay would be more convincing if you explained how advertising changes eating habits and weighed that effect against personal choices.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response contains a recognisable progression from introducing the issue, to presenting the advertising argument, to explaining the lifestyle view and stating your opinion. However, it is presented as one very long paragraph, so the reader has little visual guidance through these stages. Several ideas are joined in extended sentences, especially the discussion of actors and athletes, making relationships between claims difficult to follow. Linking phrases such as “Even though,” “Still,” and “So in my opinion” help signal contrast and conclusion, but some transitions are abrupt and references such as “those” and “this idea” are not always immediately clear. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, each view, and your conclusion, and make each paragraph’s main point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “processed sugar and fats,” “lifestyle,” “organic food,” and “advertisements,” and you attempt more specific expressions such as “harmful impact” and “portray fake scenarios.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause, for example “umber,” “beacause,” “beleives,” and “junk fods.” Some phrases are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “the bad caused by junk food advertisement” and “those fits actors.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and avoid repeating “food” and “advertisements” when a precise alternative such as “products” or “marketing” would fit.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex structures, including a concession with “Even though” and a contrast introduced by “while.” These attempts help express relationships between ideas, and the overall meaning can generally be followed. However, some sentences are overloaded or incomplete, particularly the opening sentence and the long sentence beginning “Those fits actors on screen,” where clauses are joined without clear grammatical structure or punctuation. There are also errors in agreement and sentence construction, as in “it's reason are” and “others has idea,” and the final sentence shifts between recommendations without a clear parallel structure. Build shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses carefully; check subject–verb agreement and use punctuation to separate independent ideas.
