Student answer (Band 5.0)

Both point of views are correct according to the conditions.First group of people is against the advertisement of the junk food and other group is in the favour of the advertisement of the junk food. every person hass its own opinion according to thier capability of thinking. According to some professionls junk food is one of the major cause of obesity so yhe group of first people are thinking according to that research and they are arguing to stop the advertisemeny of junk food as the younger generation is going in this way due to these advertisements.Upto some extent they are true as it is easily noticeable thing all around. On the other hand people are against the thought that advertisement should be banned because they think that people are eating junk food on their own will no body is forcing the to go and eat junk food so it should not be banned, they are saying that you should control your community to eat this junk food rather to ban the junk food.oth groups are true on thier point of view so we can not say that one opinion is wrong and one opinion is right. But if i talk about myself so my personal opinion is that first group is consist of the people whore are effected due to the over use of junk food in their daily routine and on the other hand second group is consist of he people who are the buisness men and thier most of buisness is running on this type of work like junk food etc, and due to this they are defending that junk food should not be banned.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You introduce both positions: that advertising encourages junk-food consumption and that people choose what to eat themselves. You also give a personal view, linking opposition to a ban with the interests of food businesses. However, the response only partially develops the task. The arguments are mostly asserted rather than explained or supported with specific examples, and the claim that the first group consists of people affected by junk food is not clearly established. Your opinion also shifts between saying both views are correct and favouring the first group, so your position is not consistently clear. To strengthen the response, explain how advertising may influence eating habits, consider why personal choice matters, and state your own position clearly throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response follows a basic order: it introduces the two views, discusses each in turn, and ends with your opinion. Phrases such as “On the other hand” and “But if I talk about myself” help signal changes in direction. However, the ideas do not progress clearly within this structure. Several points are crowded into long, run-on sentences, and the final explanation of who supports each view is difficult to follow. The repeated claim that both groups are right also weakens the progression toward your conclusion. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, each viewpoint, and your conclusion, and connect each claim to its explanation with clear referencing rather than relying mainly on a few transition phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general discussion, including “junk food,” “obesity,” “advertisements,” and “banned.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “younger generation” and “daily routine.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, including “both point of views,” “in the favour of the advertisement,” and “one of the major cause.” Spelling errors such as “professionls,” “thier,” and “buisness” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing influence, choice, and public health, and check spelling and word forms during revision. This would make your arguments clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and connectors, for example in the sentence beginning “On the other hand people are against the thought…”. This shows some effort to express relationships between claims. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts at longer sentences are often faulty or difficult to follow. Errors include subject–verb agreement in “junk food is one of the major cause,” missing or incorrect articles and pronouns in “no body is forcing the to go,” and inconsistent sentence boundaries, especially where several ideas run together without full stops. Capitalisation and punctuation are also unreliable. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking agreement, articles, and punctuation.
