Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You attempt to discuss both positions and give a personal view: you say some people want junk-food advertising banned, while others believe eating such food can be compatible with exercise, and you conclude that occasional meals out are enjoyable. However, the response only minimally addresses the question. The arguments are brief and unclear, and the conclusion focuses more on enjoying food than on whether advertising contributes to obesity or should be banned. The claim that junk food can cause illness is not explained or supported with an example. The response is also 72 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop the discussion. To improve, state each side’s reasoning clearly, explain how advertising may influence eating habits, and give a direct, supported opinion on banning it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response by presenting one view, introducing the opposing view with “In other hand,” and ending with “At the last” to signal your opinion. These markers help the reader recognise the intended stages. However, the ideas within each section are difficult to follow, and several points appear without clear links—for example, the discussion moves from illness to advice about healthy living, then to exercise and yoga. The response is presented as one continuous paragraph, so the two views and conclusion are not clearly separated. Use distinct paragraphs and connect each claim to its explanation with clear referencing and linking phrases. This would create a more coherent progression rather than relying mainly on a few formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “junk food,” “banned,” “illness,” “healthy,” and “exercise,” so the general subject can be identified. There are also attempts to express evaluation, such as “harmful” and “relax and fresh.” However, the range is basic and often repetitive, and inaccurate word choice or spelling sometimes makes the intended meaning hard to understand. Examples include “junk fook food,” “speice food,” “overthing on junk food,” and “moodoff.” Some phrases, such as “loss their livies,” do not communicate the intended idea clearly. Build a more precise set of topic expressions—such as “advertising influences food choices” and “a balanced diet”—and check spelling and collocations so your arguments are easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to join ideas into longer sentences, for example with “when” and “so,” and the reader can sometimes infer the intended meaning. However, sentence structures are limited and control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur in phrases such as “they are feel,” “they are eat,” and “when we going outside.” Articles and sentence boundaries are also problematic, as in “take a dinner” and the run-on sequence beginning “At the last my opinion is that.” These issues frequently make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using one clear subordinate clause at a time. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, auxiliary verbs, and punctuation between complete ideas.
