Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many societies thinks that obesity is considered as a big problem and mostly people think that junk food ads must be guilty for this and should stop selling these products and many people disagree with this. Well both concepts are right but considering advertisement a reprehensible is not a true way.
If we think about the advertiement companies that adverts there food on billboards and on television, normally that food will make you to eat. And you cant able to stop yourself since you are dependent on your routine. By pondering this reason people have a right to blame the advertisement. But now if we talk about the other side of the problem that people have no issue with these advertisements and dont that the junk food production would be stopped. The reason behind this is that the people must focus their life on their own as they should do daily excercises and should follow a healthy routine. Since obesity is mainly cause by having no workout and a dumb routine, so advertising would not effect obesity if follow a healthy practises.
If advertisement is effecting a person's habit, we should have to ignore and limit our consumption of junk foods. And also a mandatory practise for advertisement companies must be followed that they should promote an attractive ads about promoting a healthy daily-life routine besides their junk food ads. Junk food companies should only banned if they are selling toxic products. But a person is only effected by their own practises not by advertisements.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You present both views and give a discernible opinion: advertising can encourage consumption, but individuals’ habits are more important, and you oppose a ban except for toxic products. This addresses the main parts of the question. However, the discussion is only partial because the reasons are asserted rather than developed. For example, you say adverts make people eat and that obesity is mainly caused by a lack of exercise, but you provide no specific example or explanation of how these factors compare. Your position also shifts slightly between blaming advertising, recommending limits, and saying people are affected only by their own practices. Develop each side with a clear supporting example and state your final position consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall shape: an introduction, a discussion of advertising’s influence, a contrasting view, and a concluding recommendation. Connectors such as “But now,” “Since,” and “And also” show attempts to guide the reader. However, progression within the main paragraph is difficult to follow because both sides and your own recommendations are crowded together. Some links are unclear, particularly “Since obesity is mainly cause by having no workout and a dumb routine, so advertising would not effect obesity,” where the relationship between the ideas is not clearly expressed. The conclusion also introduces several points without clearly summarising the argument. Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, and make each paragraph develop one main point in a logical sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “obesity,” “advertisement,” “consumption,” “healthy routine,” and “toxic products.” There are also attempts at more formal expression, such as “reprehensible.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to interpret. For instance, “considering advertisement a reprehensible” does not express your intended point naturally, and “a dumb routine” is unclear and too informal for this essay. Spelling errors such as “advertiement” and “excercises” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of topic-specific phrases and check that each word fits its context; for example, distinguish between banning advertisements and banning the products themselves.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “If” and “Since,” and you use modal verbs to make recommendations. However, the range is limited, and complex structures are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “Many societies thinks” and “obesity is mainly cause,” while “you cant able to stop yourself” combines incompatible verb patterns. Articles and sentence construction are also problematic in phrases such as “considering advertisement a reprehensible.” These errors recur and sometimes make the intended meaning hard to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time. Check subject–verb agreement, verb patterns after modal verbs, and sentence boundaries when editing.
